Spalding are building for the future both on and off the field with regular touch rugby sessions throughout the summer.

The sessions take place at Lowfields, Tyrrells Yard, Weston Hills, on Wednesdays from 6pm and are open to youngsters and adults of all ages.

Coach Ben Williams said: “It’s been such a good success that we’ve become a base to run touch rugby sessions in south Lincolnshire as part of the build-up to the 2015
Rugby World Cup in England and Wales.”

Spalding have teamed up with phone company 02 and England rugby legend Jonny Wilkinson to help promote the sport in the run-up to this autumn’s World Cup.

Touch rugby involves players touching, rather than tackling their opponents or the ball to stop them scoring touchdowns, instead of tries.

Williams said: “We took two teams to play touch
rugby in Loughborough three weeks ago and everyone had an absolute ball.”
