Spalding RFC v Derby RFC (Saturday, 2.15pm): HARRY Sharman reckons that Town are on the brink of hitting top form.
Spalding have lost four of their last five Midlands One East games.
But a stirring second-half display in last Saturday’s 22-20 defeat to Paviors has given the Town skipper reason to believe a winning spree is on the horizon.
He said: “We played some of our best rugby of the season last week.
“After such a slow start, the character the boys showed was encouraging and it’s time for us to kick on now.”
On Derby, he added: “We don’t know much about them if I’m honest.
“But they’re obviously a strong side and we’ll have to be at our best to match them.”
Sharman also reserved special praise for Adam McHugh and Tim Smith, who both shone against Paviors.
They should both be fit to face Derby, but Harry Brown (infected elbow) misses out.
Town go into the clash 22 points behind their visitors and five points above the bottom two.
Fifth-placed Derby have won ten of their 15 games this season and have prevailed in three of their last four outings.
