SCHOOL SPORT: Kirkstone’s delight at Morley call-up

KIRKSTONE House teenager Harry Morley has been selected to train with the England rugby squad.

Morley, who is in year 11 at the Baston school, will link up with the under-16 and under-17 team after impressing this season.

He has featured for Kirkstone House since arriving at the school and previously earned a place in the East Midlands squad.

The starlet is also on the books of Peterborough Rugby Club.

A Kirkstone statement said: “He always plays for school with pride and he has our full support and congratulations for this fantastic achievement.”

• FIVE Kirkstone House pupils have qualified to represent East Anglia at the national Independent Schools Association Cross Country Championships.

An impressive 34 pupils in seven different age groups turned out for the school in a bid to earn their place on the East Anglia team for the Princethorpe College finals on Saturday, March 5.

Emily Stevens won the year ten race to become East Anglian champion, while year six girls Matilda Adcock (3rd) and Zoe Chamberlain (9th) also booked their place.

Year nine girl Henrietta McIntosh (9th) and year six boy Callum Davies (10th) also secured their spots. Ryan Allen and Anne-Marie McIntosh are both reserves.

• YEAR eight pupil Ryan Allen won the Area Table Tennis Championships for Kirkstone after coming through a difficult final.

• KIRKSTONE House enjoyed double delight at the South Lincs Indoor Hockey Tournament as both the U/16 and U/12 girls’ teams brought home a title.
