RUGBY: Three on the spin for resurgent Town

Spalding RFC moved out of the bottom three in Midlands One East with a fine 14-8 win over Newark at the Memorial Field on Saturday.

Town’s third success on the spin sees them jump above county rivals Market Rasen and Louth – who they visit next Saturday in the final round of fixtures before Christmas.

Elsewhere, Deepings were 25-20 winners over Northampton Casuals in Midlands Three East (South) and Bourne went down 66-0 at St Ives in Midlands Four East (South).

More rugby in Tuesday’s Lincolnshire Free Press.
