RUGBY: It’s mission implausible for in-form Town

Spalding RFC are bidding to do what no other side in Midlands One East has managed so far this season – beat Peterborough Lions on their own patch.

Second-from-bottom Town visit the league leaders on Saturday (2.15pm), with all nine teams that made the trip before them sent back home with a beating.

A massive 44 points separate the two teams, but Spalding’s form in the past two months belies their lowly position.Lions won the reverse 40-12 at the Memorial Field back in October, but the city side have lost three of their last seven league matches.

Town’s form is better, with three victories in their previous five.
