DEEPING Devils skipper Gemma Wilson has earned a dream move to Saracens after a stellar season.
Wilson, who was only handed the Devils’ armband last summer, secured the lucrative transfer to the rugby union Premiership outfit following a stint in the WRFU development programme.
The 31-year-old prop forward admits that she’s still pinching herself over the move.
Wilson said: “I’m finding it a bit hard to take in!
“I’m so pleased to have been selected, but I’m sad to be leaving.
“I have played at Deeping since the start of the ladies’ team and I wouldn’t be moving to Saracens if it wasn’t for the support of the coaches, the club and my team-mates.
“Though I’m going to be playing somewhere else next season Deeping will always be my home club and I would encourage anyone to go down and join in. It’s a great rugby club and I will be back as often as I can.”
Wilson also featured for the NLD county side last season.
