Spalding RFC are delighted to have received important backing from Lincolnshire County Council over their relocation of the club’s junior section.

Town’s youngsters are moving to a new site at Tyrell’s Yard in Spalding, which will enable the club to expand and have the use of two new pitches – a move that will be part funded by the County Council.

Lincolnshire County Council’s Community Grants Officer Wendy Moore met Geof Nichols, chairman of Spalding RFC, at the new location recently – and presented him with a sign showing the council’s support for the project.

The application from the rugby club was also supported by the leader of South Holland District Council Gary Porter, as well as County Councillor Karen Johnson.

Nichols said: “This support will be very helpful in establishing the junior club at its new location. We are all very appreciative of the help from Lincolnshire County Council.”
