Spalding RFC are eight points clear at the top of Midlands Two East (N) after beating nearest rivals Oakham 18-13 on Saturday.

James West scored all of Town’s points in the away clash, as they made it nine wins from as many matches.

Previously second Oakham are now ten points behind Spalding in third, with Belgrave jumping above them into second spot.

It was a day to forget for Deepings in Midlands Three East (S), though. The Green Machine were trounced 83-8 at Northampton Men’s Own and remain rooted to the bottom of the table.

Bourne’s game at Old Newtonians in Midlands Four East (S) was postponed.
