Spalding RFC suffered a 43-6 hammering at title rivals Belgrave on Saturday as they slipped off the top of the Midlands Two East (North) table.

It’s now back-to-back defeats for Town, who had won their previous ten games to race clear in the race for top spot.

Coach Niall Thomson had told his players to go out and send a message to the rest of the division by seeing off their Leicestershire rivals - but they are now a point behind them.

Down in Midlands Four East (South), Bourne were handed a 15-0 home reverse by Thorney. It’s now ten losses from as many games for the men from Milking Nook Drove.
