Resurgent Spalding RFC put back-to-back Midlands Two East (North) defeats behind them with an important 27-15 win over Dronfield on Saturday.

The bonus-point Memorial Field triumph moves Town level on points with leaders Belgrave at the top of the table, after they could only win 15-10 at Ashbourne.

The top two are now 13 points clear of the chasing pack and look set to battle it out for the title.

Down in Midlands Three East (South), Deepings were on the receiving end of a humbling 110-0 beating at Stockwood Park. They remain rock bottom of the table with 11 defeats from 12 games.
