Spalding RFC achieved a unique double on Saturday as they crushed Stamford 40-22 at the Memorial Field to make landmark progress on two fronts.
The match served as both a Midlands Two East (N) fixture and a Lincs Cup semi-final, meaning Town made it ten wins from as many league matches – and reached a county cup final to boot.
Spalding, who also picked up a bonus point for their hefty points haul, are eight points ahead of second-placed Belgrave in the table.
Elsewhere, Deepings and Bourne both suffered homed defeats. Struggling Deepings were handed a 24-3 reverse by Queens in Midlands Three East (S), while Midlands Four East (S) outfit Bourne went down 34-27 against Oundle at Milking Nook Drove.
