WAKES: Denied by late leveller

BOURNE TOWN 2 (Masters 20, Jackson pen 59) ST IVES TOWN 2 (Rogers 35, Fordham 89)

Wednesday, 4.40pm - BOURNE Town were denied an eye-catching win over St Ives by a last-gasp equaliser on Tuesday night.

Bourne went in front on 20 minutes through Rob Masters, only for Declan Rogers to restore parity ten minutes before the interval.

The Wakes regained the lead two minutes before the hour mark when ex-Holbeach United man Adam Jackson buried a penalty.

Just when it looked like Martyn Lakin's side were about to avenge last season's 8-2 drubbing, Will Fordham's 89th minute reply ensured the spoils were shared.

Wakes: Roberts, O Smith, G Staffieri, Stainfield, Cartwright (Melton), D Schiavi, Kirton, Masters, Orrey (Bayston), Pascu, Jackson.

Saturday - Bourne v Yaxley (3pm)
