TULIPS: Scott to ring changes in bid to stop the rot

RICHARD Scott is determined to stamp his authority on the Tulips squad after witnessing more of the same in his first game as caretaker/boss.
The former Peterborough United man, who stepped up to the plate when Mark Hone resigned last week, confirmed that he wants the job on a full-time basis.
And Scott insists that extensive changes must be made if Spalding are to improve on their perilous plight.
They bossed their Merseyside visitors for much of the Sir
Halley Stewart Playing Field clash, but once again came up short at both ends of the pitch.
Scott said: "The game summed up our season really, we wasted our chances and they took the only decent one they created.
"I want this job on a permanent basis. But to make sure that happens things must improve, and that has to happen quickly.
"It's clear that we aren't going to get better without making a number of changes, and that's what I plan to do.
"The chairman has told me to get on with the job and said I can move players in and out of the squad.
"I'm not saying everyone will leave, but maybe an injection on fresh talent will give some of the players a boost."
Scott has wasted little time in identifying his targets, and has slapped in seven-day notices of approach for no less than six players.
He also hopes to have a spree of trialists involved in tomorrow night's home friendly with Bourne Town (7.45pm).
One man that won't feature for the foreseeable future is Scott himself, with the defender requiring ankle surgery.
He watched from the dug out as both Luke Forbes and Ben Good spurned presentable early chances on Saturday.
Chris Adamson then fired Cammell Laird into a ninth-minute lead, with what was their only real chance of the first half.
Defender Luke Walker was at fault for the goal, with his weak header allowing Danny Andrew and Ronnie Morgan to combine in the build up.
Ben Garrick, a 53rd minute replacement for the injured Forbes, also missed a great chance when one-on-one with the visiting keeper.
The closest the Tulips went was on 72 minutes when young Luton Town loanee Jordan Patrick rattled the crossbar with a great dipping strike from 35 yards.
There was some good news for Spalding though, with relegation rivals Willenhall thrashed 7-1 by Glapwell.
