TULIPS: Scott confirmed as full-time Spalding boss
RICHARD Scott has finally landed the role of Spalding United manager on a permanent basis.
The Tulips confirmed the former Peterborough United professional as their full-time boss at an executive meeting on Thursday evening.
Scott had been in caretaker-charge since Mark Hone's resignation in November and always insisted that he wanted the role long-term.
So far he has picked up two wins from his eight games at the helm - the latest of which being a cracking 1-0 success over high-flying Belper Town.
Scott said: "From the outset I made it very clear that I wanted the job and nothing has changed. I want to take the club on to better things".
Tulips Press Officer Ray Tucker added: "After stepping into the breach following Mark Hone's departure Richard was guaranteed an eight match sequence in which to prove himself. Throughout that time his enthusiasm and desire to succeed and to maintain the club's step four status, have been wholly evident.
"We have every confidence in Richard's management abilities and look forward to a lasting and successful partnership".
