TIGERS: Keeble slams ref after loss

HOLBEACH UTD 1 (Sedlan 78) NEWPORT PAGNELL TOWN 4 (Shrieves 34 & 77, Lynch 50 & 80)

TIGERS player/boss Shaun Keeble lambasted the referee after this disappointing home defeat.

Holbeach were left reeling by the Pagnell opener, which appeared to be comfortably offside.

And to rub salt into their wounds, Alex Beck was sent tumbling in the box when clean through on goal, only for official Tony Sharrock to wave away the home appeals.

Keeble said: "Two bad refereeing errors shaped the game.

"Their first goal is at least ten yards offside and Alex Beck is clearly fouled in the area. If we'd have gone in 1-0 up at the break things could have been different.

"We have past history with this referee and there will be reports going in.

"Pagnell are a very good side and they played superbly well. But even they won't be happy with the standard of refereeing on show."

Vinny Shrieves opened the scoring at Carter's Park, looking well offside before converting a rebound.

The Beck incident followed, with the Tigers well within their rights to expect a red card and penalty following the foul.

Striker Darren Lynch doubled the advantage after the break, before Shrieves put the result beyond any doubt with the third.

Skipper Jason Sedlan did manage to pull one back with a cool side-footed effort, but Lynch had the last word late on, rounding off a miserable day for the hosts.

Tigers: Doughty, Fairweather, Thompson (Allen), Brooks, Warfield (Keeble), Parker, Sedlan, Joof, Oswin, Beck (Lambe), Nimmo. Not used: Elston.

Saturday - Tigers v Long Buckby (3pm).
