SWIMMING: Red-hot Ryan reels off impressive medal haul
SOUTH Lincs Competitive Swimming Club sensation Ryan Horrocks took a mammoth haul of medals home from Boston Open Meet.
Red-hot Horrocks won all 15 of the events he entered, clocking seven personal best times and six club records in the process.
The virtuoso display resulted in him being awarded the Top Boy Trophy.
The 200m fly was his best event of the weekend, as he set a huge 12-second PB.
Horrocks was just one of a large contingent of South Lincs swimmers in action.
Held at Grantham, the event was the last opportunity for swimmers to gain county times and, for those turning nine this year, the first opportunity to compete.
All of the swimmers were in fine form and amazing results were achieved, making it an exciting weekend for both swimmers and parents.
This created a really good atmosphere both at poolside and in the spectator area.
On another day Kyle Machin would have stolen the headlines.
He swam extremely well and achieved a super trophy haul for his eight first places.
Also on a mission was Ashley Beckett, who gained seven first places, with Matthew Beckett and Emily Blackbourn being the club's other first place swimmers.
Colin O'Reilly was taking part in his first open meet and swam in five events over the weekend.
With such a good haul of results South Lincs came third in the club points table, with Machin in fifth place in the top boy stakes.
Ashley Beckett was ninth overall, with Matthew Beckett a few places back in 18th.
Many of the other swimmers came away with places in the top three and received superb glass trophies.
Over the weekend a further 64 PB times were achieved, with numerous county times also gained.
It was an excellent result for the club, who continue to go from strength to strength.
