SNOOKER: Sean's superb showing takes Sutton to summit
ON-SONG Long Sutton A dispatched Spalding and District League Division Two leaders Holbeach C in style to leap to the top of the pile.
Sean Swinburn (O42) inpsired the victory, pocketing a super 52 break en route to a comfortable success over Nick Edwards (R7).
Team mates Derek Beba (O14) and Mick Cooper (O49) also chipped in with offerings of 27 (clearance) and 24 respectively, while Matt Smith (O49) was also victorious.
The triumph is a fourth on the spin for the second tier's form team, who boast one of the best line-up's in the league.
Friendly foes Long Sutton B are a point off the pace with a game in hand though, after they saw off Gosberton B 4-2.
Wayne Dent (O28) racked up a healthy 43 break as he beat Simon Lambert (R7) to secure the home win.
Gosberton's best individual effort came from Adam Twigg (scr), who amassed 23 in his sound success over Steve Dent (R7).
Spalding side Services D are also one point off the lead following their 4-2 win at Boundary A.
The best showing at this level saw Holbeach A whitewash fellow club side Holbeach D 6-0.
Mark Hubbard (O14) sealed the flawless display in style as he bagged a 30 break in the final frame.
Consti B's Martin Fear (O7) also chipped in with a handsome break of 33 in a 5-1 romp at Gosberton A.
Meanwhile, Crowland D crushed Pyramid C 6-0 in the top flight's heavyweight clash of the week.
Neil Burton's (scr) 27 break helped Crowland move level at the top, while the Bourne side slip from second to sixth.
Pyramid F have lost their outright lead, but stay level at the summit following their 5-1 walloping of Whittlesey A.
The duo of Jason Green (O56) and Darren Rowley (O42) chipped in with scores of 37 and 26 respectively for the title hopefuls.
Third-placed BSC A are now two points off the pace after their hard-fought 4-2 success over Consti, Mark Wilkinson (scr) pocketing a 20 break in the decisive frame.
At the foot, Services C enjoyed a 4-2 victory over basement side Donington to lift themselves ten points clear of the bottom two.
Whittlesey A lead the way in Division Three following their whitewash of Gosberton C.
The scoreline was harsh on the visitors though, as both Tony Hudson (scr) and John Forsythe (O7) claimed black-ball wins.Leaders at the start of play, BSC F slipped to a surprise 4-2 home loss at the hands of Crowland B.
Derek Tinkler (O14), Dave Pearson (R14) and John Bloomfield (R7) delivered the goods for lowly Crowland.
Tulips C jump into second with a cracking 5-1 triumph over Consti H, for whom Mark German (O14) notched a 21 break.
The best break at this level came from Crowland A's Andy Wheatley (O35).
He bagged 33 as Whittlesey D were put the the sword 5-1.
Elsewhere, the Division Four title race is back alive as leaders Q@Southside B slipped to a second defeat in three games.
Donington D dealt the blow, with Jay Kyle (R14), Colin Andrew (R21), Ken Staples (R14) and Dennis Mitcham (scr) all on-song.
Second-placed Bourne SC A are now just six points off the pace - with a game in hand.
Jason Needham (O42) and Jason Bates (O70) recorded breaks of 32 and 31 respectively in their 4-2 home win over Donington B.
There wasn't such good news for team mates Bourne SC B though, as Hillside ended their own winless streak.
Dan Mayfield (O14) helped himself to a cool 32 break to guide the Holbeach Hurn side to a first win since November 12.
It keeps getting better for ever-improving Consti A too.
Their third-straight 4-2 win, this time over Consti C, moves them further clear of the foot.
KO Cup: BREN Bowman (O56) inspired Tulips A in their all-club affair with plucky Tulips C.
The cue ace snared a super 61 break in a black-ball win over Luke Arons (O21), as the top tier side saw off their Division Three rivals 4-1.
Chris Harvey (O7) took the C team's only win, seeing off Simon Law (O7) in the final frame.
