In-form Gosberton A put the skids on Crowland B’s title charge in Division Three of Spalding and District Snooker League last week.

Mid-table Gosberton, who have now won five of their last six games, saw off the high-fliers 5-1 on home baize, with Lee Watson (O7) making a fine 29 break in the process.

Watson, along with Andy Ward (R14), Carl Wand (R7) and Peter Waterfall (R21) delivered the goods for the hosts – who are now just three points off third place.

Crowland are now three points behind leaders Bourne SC A, who edged out Crowland A 4-2. Mark Gray (O91) led the way with breaks of 21 and 20.

Elsewhere in the third tier, top potter Craig Fitter (O56) helped himself to a fantastic 48 break for Services B, but saw Whittlesey A reel off a 4-2 win over his side.

Basement boys Services F recorded their first win since December 13 with a 4-2 success at Whittlesey B. Mark Howlett (scr) sealed the victory in the final frame.

In the top flight, resurgent Tulips A made it four wins from their last five games by seeing off Crowland C 5-1.

Rob Childs (O63) shone with a 41 break for hosts Crowland, but Tulips potters Bren Bowman (O63), Chris Scoulding (O7) and Nick Savic (O35) reeled off scores of 35, 32 and 31 respectively en route to frame wins.

Holbeach A enjoyed a fine 5-1 victory over struggling defending champions Pyramid F too, as Mark Hubbard (014) trousered a 23 break.

Meanwhile, Consti E raced seven points clear of the rest in Division Four with a 6-0 whitewash win at Donington B.

Long Sutton C stay third after frame wins from Gavin Shinkin (R14), Dan Mayfield (O14) and Rachel Mayfield (R21) helped them see off Gosberton C 4-2.

It was a quiet week in Division Two, with just a few results in. The headline score saw title hopefuls Gosberton B upset 5-1 at Services C, with Kev Fitter (O14) managing a solid 23 break.
