RANGERS: Strike duo fire Deeping to stunning win

NEWPORT PAGNELL 3 (Dykes 20, Williams pen 40, Lawless 80) DEEPING RANGERS 4 (Ginty 26 & 75, Moreman 57 & 61): DEADLY duo Scott Ginty and Josh Moreman bagged a brace each as Rangers picked up one their best wins of the UCL Premier Division season.

In a fiery Willen Road clash on Saturday, Deeping battled back from 1-0 and 2-1 down to take all three points, despite losing Spencer Tinkler, Kevin Brader and skipper Adam Weston to injury.

Rangers player/boss Tuncay Korkmaz reckoned his side were on the wrong end of some harsh refereeing decisions – but praised the players to the hilt.

The Turkish tactician said: “Every decision went against us. But the lads stuck to the task and deservedly won the game.

“We played some really good football at times, scored some good goals and actually missed a few simpler chances.”

Darren Dykes gave Pagnell an early lead, but Ginty hit back quickly to level.

A harsh handball decision against Chris Logan allowed Keith Williams to fire the Swans back ahead from the spot, only for Josh Moreman – back after illness – to level in style after the break.

Moreman’s super second and another from Ginty put Deeping in dreamland at 4-2, before Dom Lawless’ goal set up a dramatic finish.

Deeping: Doughty, Evans, Jackson, Logan, Julian, Tinkler (Burton-Jones), Brader (Moreman), Weston (Holt), Beck, Heron, Ginty.

Tonight: Deeping v St Ives (7.45pm); Saturday: Daventry Utd v Deeping (3pm).
