RANGERS: Deadly double from sub Stevens saves day

SUPER-SUB Ashley Stevens came off the bench to save Deeping's blushes at lowly Rothwell.
A disastrous defeat looked on the cards when Sam Johnson and Bobby Drain fired the hosts into a shock 2-0 lead.
But Stevens had other ideas, rescuing a point with two goals in the last 20 minutes, the second of which coming at the death.
Despite the dramatic comeback, Deeping boss Pat Rayment was was still far from happy - with the referee bearing the brunt of his anger.
He said: "We had two absolutely clear-cut penalty appeals ignored only for him (the referee) to give them a scandalous one at the other end.
"We gave them one goal through an individual error and the referee gave them the other."
Johnson opened the scoring for Rothwell on 12 minutes,and Drain doubled the advantage 25 minutes from time.
Sub Stevens replaced leading scorer Mark Paul and the move proved a master-stroke, as he took his tally to nine for the season with a deadly double.
Rangers: Bircham, Duncliffe, M Porter (Griffiths), Holyoak, Goode, B Porter, Stevenson, Musgrove, Tinkler, Bettinson, Paul (Stevens). Not used: Hussey.
