MOTOCROSS: Ash smashes the rest at Sculthorpe
ROUND two of the Norfolk MXC Winter Series was a successful outing for Team TRM.
Holbeach-based brothers Ryan, Ashley and Kieran Rudd were all in motocross action at Sculthorpe last weekend – and all three did themselves proud.
Racing on a very wet track, Ashley was the star turn with a fantastic first place overall in the big wheel (150cc) section.
He took two second places before winning the final, which was more than good enough for top spot – a marked improvement on his showing in round one.
Ryan, the oldest of the Rudd trio, had a tricky outing on his 250cc machine and spent plenty of time off his bike.
But he battled well and managed finishes of eighth, fourth and seventh to place seventh overall. Considering it was only Ryan’s second meet on his new bike, that represents a decent showing.
Young Kieran was also in fine fettle and improved markedly throughout the day. He finished fourth and third before ending the meet with a victory, which was enough for second overall.
The final round of the MXC Winter Series, again at Sculthorpe, is in March.
