LOCAL FOOTBALL: Reif rifles treble in great team display
HOLBEACH UTD U/8s 3 MARCH A U/8s 1
REIF Clarke rifled a hat-trick as the young Tigers produced a great team display against tough opposition.
An early cross from Holbeach's Mike Bailey allowed Clarke to bury his and Holbeach's first goal.
March came back well , but some terrific defending from Brad Whitmore, William Barnes, William Taylor and cracking keeping from Charlie King kept them at bay.
Midfields Cameron Oko and Billy Barnes produced some great crosses for Ewan McCracken to surge forward, only for the keeper to deny him.
Bailey also had a couple of attempts saved, but that man Clarke added two more to wrap up another great win.
Man of the match: Brad Whitmore.

Dan Mason broke the deadlock on 15 minutes, firing home well from distance after fine work from Scales.
A few changes were made at the break, making Holbeach look much more solid.
It wasn't to long before Freddy Dye added the second goal with a cheeky back heel from a few yards out.
Man of the match: Dan Mason.

PINCHBECK UTD RES 1
WIMBLINGTON 0
A SCRAPPY and ill-tempered match saw Pinchbeck book a tasty-looking League Cup semi-final date with Moulton Reserves.
Pinchbeck started well, with the pace of wingers Luke Gardner and Matt Canon looking dangerous.
Ben Allen and Tom Panton went close before Darren Clarkson was pulled down in the box for a penalty.
Skipper Bobby Patterson tucked it away at the second attempt after the keeper saved the initial spot-kick.
Pinchbeck defended bravely, holding out from a bombardment of free-kicks and corners.
The game finished on a sour note though, when a fight broke out between several players, resulting in Clarkson being sent off.

SPALDING TOWN 4
POINTON 3
TOWN had to work hard to book their spot in the next round of the Sports Cup.
The Spalding side rode their luck before taking a 32nd minute lead, Nathan Young slipping a pass through for Mikey Cartlidge to fire home.
However, hard-working Pointon stormed back into the game and bagged a deserved leveller.
It could have been worse for Town too, as a Pointon penalty was ballooned over the bar.
Pointon then took the lead early in the second-half, only for Martin Gordon to level almost instantly.
The visitors were now looking tired and Town hammered home their advantage.
And it was that man Cartlidge who was on hand to bag his second of the afternoon.
Town made the game safe when Gordon capitalised on a mistake to lob home - but Pointon did manage a late consolation.
