On-song Spalding Indoor Bowls Club under-18s have enjoyed two eye-catching wins in recent weeks.
The first was against last year’s league winners Stamford on their home green. The Spalding rink of Jordan Philpott, Michael Cole, David Bristow and Skip Ryan Huskisson had a dream start by leading 8-1 after five ends – and eventually cruised to a 29-13 win.
They followed that up with victory at home to Boston. The only change saw young Ruby Hill coming in at number two ,with Cole moving up to play three in place of David Bristow.
Again they made a promising start to lead 5-1 at five ends and 11-3 at ten ends. From then on the result was never in doubt and Spalding ran out 25-5 winners after the game was conceded after 19 ends. That makes it three wins from as many games for the team, with the final game against Skegness.
