Three Spalding Gymnastic Club members secured medals as they took part in the Regional Inter-County team Championships at New College in Leicester.

Representing the county team at junior was young Spalding duo Serena Leadbeater and Jennifer Platt.

They worked very well and helped to win the bronze medal for Lincolnshire, beating Derbyshire and Leicestershire.

In the senior team, Spalding were represented by Lois Lachasseinge. She did a strong floor and beam routine to help the team to third, meaning she also won bronze.

l Spalding head coach Alec Harding was a runner-up in the Lifetime Achievement Award category at the Lincolnshire Sports Awards.

Alec was recognised for 30 years of dedication to the club. He has overseen the club growing from 25 members to more than 400.

He led the transformation of a disused warehouse at Cradge Bank into a gymnastics centre, which is now used by Spalding, Lincolnshire and other counties.
