Talented under-19 gymnasts from Sir John Gleed School for girls are celebrating after taking first place at the East Midlands Floor and Vault Schools competition.

As regional champions, the girls from the Spalding school now qualify for the national championships at Stoke on Trent in May.

The schools’ under-14 girls were also in action, but just missed out on the medals.

Coach Christine Ringrose said: “Once again Sir John Gleed gymnasts have made me incredibly proud. Their dedication to training and support of each other is fantastic.”
