Holbeach and Fenland Gymnastic Club came back from a tumble competition in Boston with an impressive 18-medal haul.

Harry Adams won their first medal of the day at the TJ Gymnastic-hosted event, landing a gold in the boys’ seven and under group. In Regional B (RB), U/7 girl Rihanna Dennison finished in the bronze medal position ahead of Abby Jackson in fourth.

Aidan Holt (silver) and a Callum Crisp (bronze) both bagged medals in the RB seven years’ section, while in the RB eight year girls’ group, Jessica Burton finished in the bronze medal position – as did team member Matthew Cuthbertson in RB boys’ nine/ten years.

Erika Webb also won gold in the girls’ nine/ten section, with Gabby Pearl (girls’ 13 plus Prep D section) and Frank Thompson (boys’ 13 plus Prep D) both winning gold. Pearl took the overall prep level bronze, too.

At national level, Jade Mace’s bronze was the first medal for Holbeach and Fenland.

But there was a clean sweep in the National 2 (N2) 13 plus group, with Emily Cooper, Mikki Taplin and Caitlyn Beattie taking gold, silver and bronze respectively.

The N3 girls group also yielded success, with Dani Ketteringham completing her runs well to bring her a silver medal.

Overall medals for National level tumbling also saw Emily Cooper finish in second place and Mikki Taplin clinch third.

Final tumbler of the day was Laura Buddle, who won the Elite 2 category. She took gold in the girls’ 15 plus section – and also secured the overall Elite gold of the day.
