DISABILITY SPORT: Club is seeking new members

CAN-DO Sports Club are on the look-out for new members to join their growing group.

The family club, who currently have 16 members, is tailored for children with disabilities and their non disabled family members and friends.

Their focus is on creating an inclusive environment by allowing families to join in together, enabling family integration and sports participation for their children.

There are a variety of different sports offered ranging from javelin, boccia, fitness and gymnastics - as well as trips to outdoor adventure facilities and a vast array of social events.

The club's Arthur Simmonds said: "I'd encourage any parents with disabled children to come down and join us.

"We have a great facility in Surfleet and the children really enjoy themselves.

"It's good for parents to be able to get together and talk to one and other too, while also helping the kids with their activities.

"We're planning a trip to Rutland Water in the near future, which will include rock climbing and sailing for the children."

All of the activities are supported by qualified coaches.

The club meets every two weeks on a Saturday at Surfleet Village Hall (2.30-4pm), with each session costing just 2.

For more information on the club contact Arthur Simmonds on 01406 380671.
