DARTS: Five alive Saracen’s C setting a fierce pace

New Saracen’s Head C continue to impress in Holbeach and District Darts League as they made it five wins from five in Division One.

Mark Horspool, Phil Povey, Simon Hill, Kev Aldhous, Duncan Hunt and Pete Richardson all enjoyed individual wins to sentence Bull B to a 16-4 reverse.

That keeps them two points clear of Tigers A, who were also in impressive form.

They dispatched Five Bells B 16-5, with Gary Mace and Dave Piccaver both nailing 180 maximums.

Piccaver and Charlie Bond also managed 15-dart legs for the victors, who made it four successes from five games.

Bull A lead the way in Division Two after beating Legion A 13-6. Shawn Biggs, Alex Gostic, George Moore, Mick Ebbage and Michael Walls all secured individual wins for the table-toppers, who remain unbeaten.

They leapfrog Horse and Groom B, who suffered a first defeat at Legion B. Nick Horspool settled the contest with a 2-0 win at the death.

In Division Three, Crown and Mitre kept their 100 per cent record intact with a 12-8 success over New Inn. Del Handley starred with a 122 finish.

• There were plenty of 180 throws in the Spalding and District League’s top flight last week.

Kelvin Crane banged in a maximum to help Black Horse extend their perfect start in Division One to four matches.

They saw off Horse and Groom A 8-1 on their own board, despite a 105 finish from Mark Robinson.

Brian Fines also pulled off a 180 for New Saracen’s Head C, as they dispatched hosts Fisherman’s Arms 8-1. Team-mate Duncan Hunt managed to pepper the treble 20 too, although that was against Horse and Groom in a result that was late getting to us.

In Division Two, Jim Cassidy followed suit with a 180 for Pinchbeck side Ship – but they were beaten by Jolly Farmer B 6-3.

Abbey Hotel continue to boss the second tier, as they made it four wins from as many games with a 6-3 success at Elizabethan.

Lesley Chamberlain top scored for the hosts with 160.
