Brittain bags three new bests as records tumble

BOSTON and District AC representatives produced 19 personal bests at the second of this season's Young Athletes League matches at Rotherham.

Among the record breakers was Haden Brittain, who improved in three throwing events.

He achieved 45.41m in the hammer, 11.34m in the shot and 32m in the discus.

In the pole vault, Chelsea Brockett cleared 2.60m for the first time and Melanie Bristow won the "B" competition with a clearance of 2.10m.

Elsewhere, Chris Corbett ran a determined 800 metres in the under-15 boys category to improve his best time for the distance.

l The Gold Tops finished in third place at the Sleaford 10k Road Race.

Jose Ferriera claimed seventh (37.57), Edgars Sokolovskis tenth (39.21) and Dennis Rainbow 22nd (42.08).
