BILLIARDS: Whitewash win extends Consti lead

It’s now nine wins on the trot for Spalding and District Billiards League leaders Holbeach B as they extended their lead to seven points with a perfect show.

They crushed basement boys Gosberton 7-0, with a 20 break from Nigel Ward (R100) the highlight.

Second-placed Consti C went down 4-3 against friendly foes Consti B. Although he lost, Mick Johnson (O160) shone for the ‘B’ team with a fine 46 break.

The best break of the week went to Holbeach a ace Hugh Pinner (O170), who racked up scores of 53, 43 and 32 in his sides’ 5-2 win at Pyramid A.

Elsewhere, Crowland B prevailed 5-2 at Donington thanks to wins from Paul Holland (R70) and Neil Burton (R80), while Consti D saw off club rivals Consti A 5-2. Alan Hansard (R70) sealed that success.
