BILLIARDS: Consti go 11 clear with a whitewash

Consti C stretched their lead in Spalding and District Billiards League to 11 points with a cracking 7-0 succcess at friendly foes Consti A.

Pat Bowman (R110), John Batterham (R120) and Mick Peet (R110) all registered impressive wins for the leaders, who have won ten of their 12 games.

Another side winning by the maximum 7-0 scoreline were Crowland B, who dispatched Gosberton on their own table.

Rob Childs (O190) led the charge with a series of brilliant breaks, the best of which being 63. He also pocketed scores of 48, 30, 29 and 22 (twice).

Elsewhere, Consti D edged a thriller with Long Sutton 4-3. Sean Swinburn (R10) was on fine form for Sutton with a 59 break, but Stewart Davies (R20) and Alan Hansard (R70) sealed the victory for Consti, making breaks of 31 and 20 respectively.

Results: Consti A 0 Consti C 7 (499-600); Crowland B 7 Gosberton 0 (600-525); Consti D 4 Long Sutton 3 (504-550).
