BILLIARDS: Consti cash in with huge away victory

The top two in Spalding and District Billiards League clash last week – and it was leaders Consti C who enhanced their position at the summit.

They crushed nearest rivals Holbeach B 7-0 on their own baize, with Jason Rose (R80) making a cool 32 break in the process. As a result, Consti are now nine points clear.

Consti B took the chance to jump up to second, as they saw off Holbeach A 5-2 in a cracking clash. Cue maestro Hugh Pinner (O170) dazzled with breaks of 62, 37 and 35, while magic Mick Johnson (O160) managed scores of 43, 35 and 29.

Elsewhere, Adam Barwell (R10) pocketed a 47 break as Long Sutton defeated Pyramid A 5-2, while scores of 30 and 28 from Stewart Davies (R20) helped lowly Consti D beat Crowland B 4-3. Sid Shaw (O10) also notched a 32 in Donington’s 5-2 win at Gosberton.
