ATHLETICS: Emily bags a bronze
THREE Spalding youngsters were in action for Lincolnshire at the Aviva East Midlands Regional Sportshall Athletics championships at Grantham.
Up against teams from Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland and Northamptonshire, Lincs finished second in three of the four age groups.
At U/15 girls level, Emily Maltby and Amber Voight made good contributions to an impressive combined team performance.
Maltby finished fifth overall in the all-rounder championship and took the individual bronze medal in the two laps final (24secs).
In her other two individual events she claimed fourth place in the shot (8.68m) and the standing long jump (2.25m).
Maltby also played her part in Lincolnshire's impressive 4x2 lap relay victory.
Voight finished 21st overall, with her best result a ninth place in the four lap event (55.8secs).
Morgan Agate (U/13 girls) ran in both the 4x1 and obstacle relay, before competing in the standing long jump.
