Bourne were unlucky not to give Darren Munton a winning send-off but had to settle for a point at Blackstones.
The Wakes went into their final game knowin they couldn’t avoid the bottom two so were oly playing for pride but they started brighly and Tom Cardall went close after fine approach play by Dan Mason and Alec Robinson.
Mason then put Andy Moss in on goal only for Blackstones keeper John Swales to save with his legs.
The hosts also had a couple of chances but it was Bourne who went in ahead at the break, Robinson lobbing Swales a minute into added on time.
Bourne keeper Aaron Bellairs kept out Declan Carr early into the second half and Mason almost doubled Bourne’s lead when forcing a superb save from Swales but the hosts levelled on 67 minutes when Sam Strange headed home at the far post.
Dan Smith fired over when well placed and the Wakes were the reduced to ten men when Andy Moss was shown a red card but they still almost snatched victory at the death only for Swales to again save well to deny Danny Pick.
