Ben Wilson rode to a brace of top-10 finishes in round six of the British Supersport Championship at Brands Hatch at the weekend but drops down the order to 11th in the standings on 66 points.

The Kirton rider was running well within the top 10 throughout free practice and completed his qualifying in eighth position to make a start to Saturday’s sprint race from the middle of the third row.

Wilson finished seventh and in the feature race on Sunday he came in ninth position.

He said: “After the last couple of meetings I really needed a finish and that’s what I did.

“Fighting for a top-10 place is not really where I want to be but the pace of the front-runners is so quick I just cannot match them right now.

“We have reached the halfway stage of the season so let’s hope things take a change for the better now.”
