Spalding Tennis Club junior Jack Howard (13) has made an impressive start to the summer season. Jack, a pupil at the Sir John Gleed Academy in Spalding, reached the finals of both tournaments entered in May.
On the warmest day of the year he reached the final in Derby after winning a thrilling semi-final. Unfortunately he lost on a Championship tie-break. At Northampton, Jack was seeded number 1. He breezed through to the final and then, playing aggressive tennis and hitting winners at will, won it with the loss of only one game. Jack is now focusing on his forthcoming tournaments this month, starting with one in Surrey this Sunday.
