With the regular season completed, the Spalding and District Table Tennis League has now moved into summer mode.
Around 20 members and visitors went to the sports centre last Wednesday, using half the tables available for practice and friendly games of singles and doubles.
The visitors joined in, receiving tips on playing techniques from holding the bat to playing different types of shots.
As well as regular members giving advice, the league’s two registered coaches were on hand and the robot was also available for practice.
The league committee are hopeful that some of the visitors might be interested enough to join the league next season.
Among those playing last season the league had players of all abilities from comparative beginners to those with experience of national and international events.
Players range in age from 11 to their seventies and all are committed to helping anyone who is willing to listen so newcomers are invited to give it a go on a Wednesday from 7.30pm.
You might even find yourself picking up a trophy next season as the league have a healthy record of winning newcomers.
