Saracen’s Head teenager Ben Stafford claimed “a fantastic result” in only his third race of the BSB 600 stock race series.
He finished ninth at Thruxton – the fastest circuit in the country – in round six of the championships after the change from European supermoto at the end of last year.
Following free practice and two qualifying sessions, Stafford came out fighting on race day with all his hard work and determination paying off.
From 20th on the grid, he made his way through the field and after 14 laps he crossed the line in ninth position,
His dad Andy said: “This is a fantastic result for Ben after such a short time in this series.
“When you look at the field and the wealth of experience this makes it even more incredible as one-and-a-half seconds separate first to 24th place.”
Stafford and the Silicone Engineering team will travel north to Oulton Park next week for round 7 where he will be hoping for more of the same.
