Gosberton Risegate rider Simon Lambert has unveiled details for his testimonial meeting.
Original plans to stage the event in August had to be put on hold but Rambo Lambo’s Decennary will now be staged on Sunday, March 26 (2pm start), at King’s Lynn’s Adrian Flux Arena.
For Boston-born Lambert, there will be a real feeling of “coming home” in March.
A King’s Lynn asset, he has already ridden at the Adrian Flux Arena, either for Lynn or Boston, across seven seasons.
More recently, he has just received a second straight supporters’ rider of the year award at Peterborough and was announced this week as a Panther once again for 2017.
Nearly a year on from the initial announcement of his plans, Lambert explained the meaning of his testimonial’s title.
“Decennary originated from Latin as an old English word for 10 years or decade. It’s different, it’s unusual – and it’s hopefully memorable too,” said Lambert.
“Technically, I should now really be going with the equivalent for 11 years – but Undecennary doesn’t have quite the same ring, does it?
“Rambo Lambo was a nickname I was given at King’s Lynn a long way back and I’ve never quite been able to shake it off. I guess that if you’ve got to live with it, you might as well learn to love it!”
As for the big day itself, Lambert is currently sworn to secrecy by his testimonial committee regarding certain details of the meeting.

He added: “It should have some great racing, with a bit of fun and nostalgia thrown in for good measure.”
The centrepiece will be an individual event, climaxing in a Grand Final run-off, with the riding line-up due to be announced as the build-up to March 26 gathers pace.
There has already been significant interest in a number of sponsorship opportunities, with details of packages still available for Rambo Lambo’s Decennary set to be published soon.
