The Cliff Hall Memorial Shield (at Donington): LAST season’s beaten finalists Long Sutton bowed out of the Cliff Hall Memorial Shield after meeting a supreme Skegness WMC side.

Only Phil Goodman was able to register a frame win in a 4-1 defeat, with Sean Swinburn, Mick Cooper, Adam Barwell and Stu Atkin all beaten.

Hillside also bowed out 4-1 against Grantham C. Their sole success came from John Keeton.

Meanwhile, the best break of the competition was registered last week. That honour went to Grantham A’s S Gowen with a superb 77 clearance.

His side went on to beat Nearly Men 5-0.

Also through are Curly Wurlys and Gosberton Raiders.
