Invincible Tulips A kept their flawless start to the new Spalding and District Snooker League season going with a seventh win on the bounce.

The Spalding side are a point clear in Division One after breezing past Consti B 5-1– and remain the top flight’s only unbeaten side.

Nick Savic (O35) and Bren Bowman (O63) made breaks of 31 and 22 respectively for Tulips, while Simon Law (scr) and Chris Scoulding (O7) were also winners.

At the moment it’s a Tulips lock-out at the top, with the club’s B team second. They edged out host Long Sutton B 4-2, with Joe Garland (scr) sealing the success in the final frame.

Third-placed Pyramid B aren’t far off the pace after their 4-2 triumph at Donington C. Jason Green (O56) made a 29 break for the Bourne side, but their wins came from Keith Duly (O14), Spencer Dawkins (O49) and Dave Pearson (O14).

Towards the foot, Holbeach D grabbed a battling 4-2 victory at Services E. Ian Woodberry’s (R14) 22 clearance helped them on their way.

In Division Two, Consti F made it six wins from as many matches by beating Services B 5-1 at home. Robert Adams (O14) reeled off a 20 break for the league leaders.

Also unbeaten are Services C in second. They shaded a close contest with Pyramid C 4-2 to make it five wins from as many games, with Kev Fitter (O14) taking the crucial frame.

Crowland B suffered an untimely 5-1 loss at Consti G, who made it back-to-back wins for the first time this season.

Jim Howe (O7) made a 30 break en-route to landing Crowland’s only point, while in the same frame Simon Richardson (O7) chipped in win a cool 24.

Elsewhere, rampant Holbeach B moved six points clear at the top of Division Three after knocking off Long Sutton C 6-0.

Neil Harvey (O7) starred with a 20 break for the leaders, while Phil Coaten (O7), Cameron Haynes (R7), Reg Walmsley (O7) and Barry Haynes (R7) were also on winning form.

Bourne SC B remain second despite their 6-0 home beating at the hands of Consti G. John Mumford (R21) and Kevin Sweeney (R7) both clinched black-ball wins to give the scoreline a more comfortable look.

Gosberton A are up to third after shading a close battle with Consti D. Lee Watson (O7) reeled off a 22 clearanc to give them the perfect start.

Also on-form were Consti A, who ended a two-game losing streak by defeating Donington D by a maximum 6-0 scoreline.
