A classy 82 break from Jason Green helped give defending Spalding and District Snooker League champions Pyramid F a timely boost last week.
The Bourne side, who are stuttering a little in their bid to retain the Division One crown, crushed second-placed Tulips B 6-0 with a top display.
Green (O56) led the charge with the best top tier break of the season so far, while team-mates Spencer Dawkins (O49) and Alfonso Palumbo (O42) added scores of 46 and 34.
The win leaves them ten points behind leaders Long Sutton B, who suffered their first league loss since October 11.
That beating came at the hands of friendly foes Sutton A, who edged the table-toppers out 4-2. They were boosted by a 25 clearance from Keith Wells (O28), while Mat Smith (O42) managed a 27 break.
At the foot, Tulips A continued their revival with a 5-1 home victory over Pyramid A, Bren Bowman (O63) top scoring with a 29 break.
In Division Two, Boundary B extended their lead at the top to five points with a 5-1 home triumph over Gosberton B.
That’s because chief rivals Boundary A and Services A both came a cropper 4-2, against Crowland D and Consti H respectively.
Neil Burton (O7) made a 20 break for Crowland, while Consti’s Seb Grimston (O28) shone with a fine 38.
Meanwhile, Crowland B boosted their promotion hopes in Division Three with a 5-1 success at rock-bottom Services F.
Paul Spicer (R7), Jim Howe (R7), Richard Neal (R14) and Jeff Roberts (R7) all secured frame wins for the second-placed side.
Down in Division Four, there were two top breaks in the all-Bourne clash between Pyramid B and Pyramid E, which the former won 5-1.
The E team’s Neil McClean (R7) top scored with a super 55, while the B team’s Eddie Whitfield (scr) managed 54.
Elsewhere, second-placed Bourne SC B moved level with leaders Consti E after beating Donington B 5-1. They were denied a whitewash by Fred Goodacre’s (R21) black-ball win.
