Pyramid B produced the perfect performance to open up a five-point lead at the top of Spalding and District Snooker League Division One last week.

The Bourne boys crushed Deepings rivals Boundary B 6-0 to make it four wins on the bounce in emphatic style – and almost certainly secure their place at the summit for Christmas.

Alfonso Palumbo (O42) led the way with a fine 48 break, while talented team-mates Jason Green (O56) and Spencer Dawkins made breaks of 35 (clearance) and 29 respectively.

Pyramid also benefited from a slip-up by second-placed Tulips B, who went down 4-2 at resurgent basement boys Consti B.

John Keeton (O7) settled the contest with a vital victory over Mark Wilkinson (O14), who made a 24 break, in the final frame.

Services A remain in the title picture following a 4-2 derby victory over friendly foes Services E.

Charlie Mullane (R21), John McDowell (O7) and Paul Quincy (scr) delivered the goods for the third-placed side, who are eight points off the pace.

The second-best break in the top flight was pocketed by Long Sutton A’s Sean Swinburn (O49). He notched 38 in a 4-2 success over Donington A.

Meanwhile, Consti F reclaimed top spot in Division Two after a convincing 5-1 triumph at Gosberton B. Crucial black-ball wins from Bryan Turnell (R14) and Justyn Stanley (scr) helped them to a third victory on the trot.

Previous leaders Pyramid C were beaten 4-2 in Bourne by Spalding side Services B – despite a cool 25 break from Matt Allen (O42).

Consti H closed on the top two with a big 6-0 whitewash at Whittlesey B. A 25 break from Doug Garfoot (O14) and 23 from Seb Grimston (O21) were the highlights for Consti, who are just three points off top spot.

In Division Three, Bourne SC B moved to within four points of the leaders with a 4-2 return against Consti A.

Brian Corr (R7) delivered the win in the final frame, with Ray Murdoch (R7) and Leanne Wakefield (R7) the other winners in a comeback success.

Fourth-placed Long Sutton C are also moving the right direction following their 6-0 demolition of Gosberton D.

Their maximum return was capped off by birthday boy David Lefley (scr) in the final frame.

Elsewhere, Mark Howlett (scr) trousered a fine 35 break to help Services D demolish Donington D 6-0 and Matt Wright (R7) managed a super 22 clearance to inspire Boundary C’s 4-2 win over Pyramid E.
