Bren Bowman made one of the best breaks of the Spalding and District Snooker League season so far to help get his Tulips A side back on track.
After suffering back-to-back defeats, the Division One leaders shaded a close clash with Donington C 4-2 to reignite their charge for the title.
Talisman Bowman (O63)starred with a super 64 break, before finishing off his frame success with a 30 clearance.
Nick Savic (O35) and Martin Anderson (O7) won the other frames for the Spalding side, who made it eight wins from ten matches.
They are now level-pegging with Pyramid B at the top, after the Bourne side beat Sutton D 4-2. Jason Green’s (O56) 24 break helped him win one of the frames, with Keith Duly (O14) and Dave Pearson (O14) the other victors.
Tulips B lost ground on the leading duo after slipped up 4-2 at home to Services A, who are now just a point behind them in fourth.
Mike Knight (O7), who made a 21 break, Jonny McDowell (scr) and Jon Bettinson (scr) all won for Services in the all-Spalding affair.
Elsewhere in the top flight, Zac Rowlett (O28) made a 36 break and Paul Boucher (O28) reeled off a 22 clearance to guide Holbeach D to a 4-2 home success over Boundary B.
In Division Two, leaders Consti F suffered a surprise 4-2 beating at Whittlesey C.
Graeme Sawyer (O14) trousered a 27 break en-route to one of Whittlesey’s frame wins.
That allowed Whittlesey A to move within five points of the leaders with a 5-1 triumph at Bourne SC A, who they are now level on points with
Meanwhile, Crowland A shaded a cracking derby with club rivals Crowland B 4-2.
Jim Howe (O7) starred with a 36 break for the B side, with team-mate Derek Tinkler (O14) chipping in with a 22.
But their efforts were in vain, as the A side got the lion’s share of the points, inspired by Neil Burton’s (O7) cool 28.
Holbeach B are four points clear in Division Three after their 5-1 return at Services D.
Phil Coaten (O7) led the way with a 29 break, with team-mate Reg Walmsley (O7) adding a cool 22.
A 22 clearance from Mick Clark (R7) steered Donington B to a 5-1 success at lowly Pyramid E, while friendly foes saw off Gosberton D 4-2.
Marcus Pell (O21) pocketed a 30 break en-route to one of Gosberton’s two frame wins.
Long Sutton C are back into the top six following a 4-2 home win over Consti A, thanks to frame victories from Dan Mayfield (R21), David Lefley (scr) and Susan Lefley (R14).
