Eight members of the Three Counties Running Club were in action in the Shouldham cross country.

They had to contend with muddy conditions in the event staged by Ryston Runners.

Out of the eight members running the 6.5K course, three made podium places within their age group.

Colin Simpson finished second in male 60+ category, completing the event in a time of 28mins 54secs, while Sandra Rhodes was second female in the 50-54 age group and Steph Clark third female in the 50-54 age group.

Times for Three Counties runners were: Colin Simpson 28:54 (2nd in age group); Adam Chown 29:00; Dave Lawrence 30:16; Colin Apps 31:01; Paul Stratford 34:55; Sue George 36:37; Sandra Rhodes 38:47 (2nd in age group); Stephanie Clark 40:55 (3rd in age group).

Meanwhile, Lucie Broomfield and Lauren Murrell took part in the Milton Keynes Winter Half Marathon, with both recording personal best times.

The 13.1 mile anti-clockwise route took in the sights of the city and included a stretch of running along the Grand Union Canal.

Lucie crossed the line in a time of 02:13:00 and Lauren came home in 02:15:00.
