Richard Faulkner enjoyed a finals night to remember as his Robin Hood side denied champions Holbeach USC a Hart-Marler Spalding Sunday League double.
In the main event of the night, league winners Holbeach squared off with Spalding-based Robin Hood to decide the KO Cup.
And the clash didn’t disappoint, with both sides locked together at 4-4 following a thrilling final.
That meant a play-off was required – and it was cue ace Faulkner who delivered the goods, securing a 5-4 win and the coveted crown for Robin Hood.
Faulkner also enjoyed individual success at the Spalding Services Club bash.
He took on Fisherman’s Arms A potter Tony ‘Taff’ Evans in the final of the singles – and once again it was a very close contest between two top players.
But it was Faulkner’s night and he clinched another top trophy triumph by edging out his rival Evans 2-1.
There was a silver-lining for prolific potter Evans, as he and Fisherman’s team-mate Terry Shaw delivered the doubles title.
Up against talented duo Mark Woodberry and Zac Rowlett, the Pode Hole pairing ended up 2-0 winners of the final.
Holbeach USC did at least get their hands on the league trophy, taking top spot over nearest rivals Fisherman’s Arms A, who had to settle for the runners-up gong.
