LEANNE Wakefield has pocketed herself a trial for the England ladies’ eight ball pool team.
Wakefield, who is a regular player around the South Holland pool scene, finished the season off with her highest ranking yet.
She will now battle it out with 63 other trialists from all over England at Vauxhall holiday centre at Great Yarmouth, in a bid to secure one of the eight spots on offer.
Wakefield has been playing pool for Lincolnshire in the past three years and has topped the county rankings for the last two of those.
In the local Spalding scene, she has been ladies singles champion and mixed doubles champion several times.
Wakefield also won the Lincs open ladies’ singles once and has been runner up twice. She has also won the mixed doubles title twice with Shane Balding.
To cap off a memorable week, she was also handed a bouquet of flowers by the legendary Steve Davis at a recent snooker exhibition in Bourne.
