Invincible Woadman’s Arms completed a stunning unbeaten season by clinching a Holbeach and District Pool League double on finals night.

The Division One winners, who won all 18 of their league games, added the KO Cup to their lengthy list of accolades at Sutton Bridge’s Anchor Inn.

Woadman’s also delivered the Doubles crown, while Hat and Feathers A landed the Secondary Cup title and Chris Back grabbed the Singles gong.

The big game of the night pitted all-conquering Woadman’s against Division Three underdogs Bull’s Neck B. Played over two tables, the third tier side raced into a surprise early lead thanks to Mark Wright and Dan Greenacre.

But back came Wodman’s to take the remaining six frames and the cup 6-2, putting the shine on another incredible season for Jimmy Ball, Steve Cobb, Jonathan Leuty, Shaun Summers, Alan Mason and Colin Bartram.

In the Secondary Cup final, Hat and Feathers A raced into an impressive 4-0 lead thanks to Calvin Leuty, Phil Turner, Martyn Burgess and Andy Cooper. Chony Andrews and Rob Coaten returned fire, but Cooper and Burgess sealed a 5-2 win and the trophy in the doubles.

Next was the Doubles, with the Bull’s Neck and Woadman’s rivalry back on the table.

It started superbly for Woadman’s duo Summers and Mason, with the later taking the first frame after a super seven-baller.

Opponents Wright and Greenacre were very much in the second, but when Greenacre went in off the second last ball, it was 2-0. Summers then wrapped up the final frame to seal a 3-0 win and yet another Woadman’s trophy.

The night concluded with the Singles final, with Chewuers A’s Back – one of two players to go the entire season unbeaten – seeing off Bull C’s John Dunham 3-1.

Dunham stormed to victory in the opener, leaving Back with seven balls on the table.

But normal service was resumed when the Chequers ace took the next three in a row to seal the win.
