Relentless Woadman’s Arms added two more trophies to their swelling cabinet as the Holbeach and District Pool League (sponsored by WDE Carpentry) came to a close.

The Division One champions, who won 19 of their 20 matches, landed the Knockout Cup crown and picked up the Doubles title too.

There was also Secondary Cup glory for New Saracen’s Head A and individual glory for Beth Moody and J Beacham on a cracking night of action at Sutton Bridge’s Anchor Inn.

The big game of the night saw the top flight’s leading duo – Woadman’s and Golden Lion – go head-to-head in the KO Cup final.

Champions Woadman’s took a 4-2 lead into the doubles, with Steve Cobb, Alan Mason, Shaun Summers and Shane Balding taking a frame apiece. But Dan Rhodes and Jason Burdall both won to keep the Moulton Seas End outfit in contention, before Vernon Harris and Rhodes took the first doubles clash to take it to the wire.

However, Balding and Jonathan Leuty wrapped up the win to seal a 5-3 win and the double.

Deadly duo Balding and Leuty returned to the table later on to clinch the Doubles final 3-1. They saw off game Anchor duo Kyle Tatam and Darren Russell – although an emphatic clearance by Russell had given the underdogs a 1-0 lead.

There was another stellar showing in the Singles final, with Hat and Feathers B ace Beacham producing three finel frames to see off Lamb and Flag A’s Joe Lewsey 3-0.

It was more tactical stuff in the Ladies’ Cup final, as Moody edged past Kirsty Melisi 3-1.

With Moody winning the first two frames, a spectacular clearance from Melisi in the third kept the game alive. But an unfortunate rebound off the jaw saw her pot the black into the wrong pocket in the fourth frame, handing Booth the title.

Meanwhile, the Secondary Cup final play-off was pretty one-sided as dominant New Saracen’s Head A cruised past Anchor C 5-1.
