PLUCKY Birds defied the odds to lift the Hart-Marler Spalding Sunday League’s KO Cup on finals night.
The Division Two side trounced top tier heavyweights Bell 5-1 to deliver the shock of the night.
To a man, Ash Burton, Auren Lionheart, Brett Cruikshank, John McKenzie, Davey Shepherd and Lee Croft were superb.
Silverware also went the way of Darren Woodberry in the singles.
The Holbeach USC man defeated Crowland’s Neil Burton 2-0 in the final.
In the doubles, Fenway pairing Mike Cartlidge and and Geoff Barlow edged a tight final with Jordan Leak and Tony “Taff” Evans (Fisherman’s Arms A) 2-1.
It wasn’t the only trophy to head to Fisherman’s Arms A, as they finally got their hands on the Division A title.
The Pode Hole club edged out Holbeach USC by virtue of winning more legs, after both teams ended their season on 21 points.
In Division B, Crowland RBL were presented with their gong. They up five points clear of runners-up Drayman’s Arms A.
